History of God Shani Dev

"Om Sham Shanischaryaye Namah"

Surya putra God Shani Dev has immense power. So, when we think about any matter i.e. good, bad and make plans, those plans and thoughts are directly goes to God Shanidev by his immense power. The history shanidev is different.

God Surya dev (Hindu God) was married to Sadnya (Daksha Kanya). Sadnya had three children from God Surya Dev. First was Vaivastahva manu, second was Yam Dev (deity of death) and the third was Yamuna Devi. She loved her children very much. But, Daksha Kanya Sadnya could not tolerate the radiance of God surya Dev. So, she thought that she would leave God Surya for his radiance and go to her parent’s home or go far away to a lonely & undertake great penance.

Due to the power of her penance, Sadnya created a ‘Chhaya’ of her and named her Suvarna. After the creation of Chhaya, Sadnya told her that she would thereafter play the role of womanhood and nurse for her three children. She also told her if any problem arose she can call her and she (Sadnya) would come rushing to her. Handed over all responsibility & children, Sadnya went away to her parents’ place.

Sadnya went to her parent’s home and told her father that she could not tolerate the radiance of God Surya dev. And so, without inform her husband she had come away here. Listening to all this matter, her father scolded her very much and told her go back to Surya dev immediately. Then, Sadnya get worried about Chhaya that if she went back, what would happen to the responsibilities which she had given to Chhaya & where would Chhaya go? Thinking all about this, Sadnya went to the dense jungle (forest).

But in the jungle, she was fearful of her safety because of her beauty & youthfulness. And she changed her form into that of a mare so that none could recognize her and started her penance. Elsewhere, the relation of God Surya and Chhaya begot three children. First was Manu, Second was God Shani dev and third was Putri Bhadra.God Surya dev never doubted anything. God Surya and Chaya were happy with each other.
